My Care Philosophy

My primary clinical interests revolve around the complex care dynamics in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and cystic fibrosis (CF), as well as patients with vascular and post-surgical intestinal complications such as short gut syndrome with intestinal failure (SGS-IF). I have been actively involved in developing specialized expertise caring for these patients since joining the University of Minnesota Faculty in 2011. In recognition of my care of adult CF patients with gastrointestinal manifestations of the disease, I was awarded the DIGEST Grant by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in 2014. Each of these conditions requires thoughtful attention to the medical, emotional, and psychosocial aspects of the affected patient. I take pride in developing ongoing partnerships with patients and their loved ones as they work through the processes together.
