Giving and Volunteering

Non-monetary Donations

We would love to accept donations for our patients.

Suggestions for donation drives are: crayons, Crayola washable markers, bubbles, books (board books for infants and toddler thru teenage are needed), knitting needles and cotton yarn, puzzle books (Word Find, Sudoku, Crossword, etc.) for adults, toothbrush and toothpaste sets, and new release and current DVD’s (child and adult).

For donating specific items to hospital units, our Child & Family Life Department has a ‘Wish List’ for donations at Amazon.com.

You can view the Amazon Wish List.

Type: University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital

Due to infection prevention guidelines, you or your group would not be able to hand out items directly to patients. We ask that you drop the items off with our staff for distribution. Call 612-273-6565 to arrange.

Due to infection prevention policies we do not accept used items (books, toys or stuffed animals) for use with Pediatric patients.

Suggestions for places that accept gently used items are:
Mary’s Place/Sharing and Caring Hands (612-338-4640)
OR
Salvation Army (salvationarmynorth.org).

Group events involving putting together donations are best held ‘off site’; reserving limited space within the hospital is difficult.

Again, we thank you for your generosity and giving spirit. Please contact us with any further questions.
