It is important for you and your child to feel prepared for surgery. University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital has created two videos so you and your child know what to expect. Please view the video For Kids & Grown Ups first, for an overview of the surgery experience.  Then watch the video For Grown Ups for more detail about what you need to know to feel prepared for surgery. Child-Family Life Services

University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital’s Child-Family Life staff are experts in helping families cope with illness and hospitalization. Through therapeutic play and child-appropriate hospital interventions, we help children and families cope, and also teach families and caregivers how to help manage stress and anxiety regarding a child’s illness. To meet with a Child-Family Life specialist, please call 612-672-7272.
