We’re giving Halloween a whole new meaning: Instead of kiddos just getting candy, they can treat U.S. military personnel serving overseas.
Last year, the program resulted in a sweet haul — more than 2,000 pounds of candy was donated and distributed to the troops.
Kids and families can donate their unopened candy Friday, Nov. 1, through Friday, Nov. 8, by stopping at select M Health Fairview and University of Minnesota Physicians (M Physicians) clinics. Kids are also encouraged to make a card to send with their candy.
In exchange, we'll give a book to each child who donates. They range from picture books to chapter books, so your families can choose one that's age appropriate.
There are 49 M Health Fairview and M Physicians clinics where you can donate candy. Visit https://www.fairview.org/locations to find out when the clinics are open, and stop by one of the following locations to make the swap.
