Patients today have many options for the treatment of cancer. The treatment you will receive depends on the type of cancer you have and how advanced it is. Treatment decisions are made in conjunction with your doctor and care team members. Most patients will have a combination of treatments, most of which are probably somewhat familiar to you – surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy.
Through University of Minnesota Health, patients also have access to the latest in new therapies and treatments through clinical trials, including immunotherapy, targeted cellular therapies and minimally-invasive surgical options. Patients in our program have the benefit of treatment decisions being made in partnership with a collaborative, comprehensive care team including oncologists, radiologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists and others.
