Join us for an action-packed week at the Minnesota State Fair 2019

University of Minnesota Health experts will be at the 2019 Minnesota State Fair between Aug. 23-28. Check out our complete schedule of events, health screenings and activities.
University of Minnesota Health has a bevy of events and activities planned for the Minnesota State Fair. Find us at the Health Zone in the University of Minnesota Central Building on Dan Patch Avenue or the Driven to Discover Building on Cosgrove Street.

Meet with health experts from dozens of different specialties, receive free health screenings and participate in a variety of family-friendly activities at the University of Minnesota Health exhibit during the 2019 Minnesota State Fair.

The Central building is two blocks west of gate 5 on Dan Patch Avenue on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. The Driven to Discover building is located at 1367 Cosgrove Street, across from the Minnesota State Fair Education Building.

University of Minnesota Health Cancer Care Day
9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 23
University of Minnesota Driven to Discover Building
Join University of Minnesota Health Cancer Care providers and Masonic Cancer Center, University of Minnesota experts at the state fair on Friday! Fair-goers have an opportunity to learn more about avoiding and surviving the disease that affects nearly half of all Minnesotans—cancer. This year, our focus areas are mammogram education, skin cancer prevention, and genetic cancer risk. Spin our trivia wheel or play Plinko for prizes, create family-friendly educational craft projects, or undergo a free skin cancer screening from a board-certified dermatologist.

University of Minnesota Health Neurosciences Day
9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 25

Check out a real human brain, learn fun trivia about the body’s brain and nervous system and take a spin on the prize wheel during Neurosciences Day. Our University of Minnesota Health Neurosurgery and Neurology teams include epilepsy, stroke, trauma, memory and neuro-modulation experts. Many of them will be on-site to talk about our services at the Minnesota State Fair. Stop by at 11 a.m. to hear Neurologist Sarah Benish, MD, FAAN, a member of our new Headache Care program, host an interactive Q&A session about headache causes, treatment and prevention.

University of Minnesota Health Women and Children’s Health Day

M Health is for Kids! Join us at the fair on Monday, Aug. 26, to learn more about how University of Minnesota Health cares for moms, babies, children, teenagers and young adults. Meet members of our nationally recognized care teams, ask them health-related questions and learn how we provide everyday care as well as the highest level specialty care if needed. University of Minnesota Health Orthopedic Care Day
9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27
Health Zone at University of Minnesota Building
Fall sports seasons have already started at many Minnesota high schools, and with it comes the risk for a sports injury or concussion. University of Minnesota Health orthopedic experts will share information about concussion symptoms and prevention. We have plenty on tap for older adults, too, including helpful tips and information for staying active as you age.

University of Minnesota Health Heart Care Day
9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28

Want to see a human heart? The University of Minnesota Health Heart Care team will be at the Minnesota State Fair to teach visitors about the anatomy of the heart and the long-term effects of heart disease. Fair-goers can chat with heart experts, see the latest technologies for patients with advanced heart failure and take a digital heart risk assessment.

University of Minnesota Health Solid Organ Transplant (SOT) Day
9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28

Stop by our booth to learn more about our life-saving care and innovation, including our amazing breathing lung transplant technique, islet cell transplants and more.
