Our comprehensive, compassionate and innovative care has once again caught the attention of Women’s Choice Awards.
University of Minnesota Medical Center is one of several Twin Cities hospitals honored in 2018 by the national award program, which recognizes the country’s best health care organizations based on patient satisfaction, clinical excellence and women’s highest preferences when it comes to treatment and a quality hospital experience.
The medical center, located in Minneapolis, is being recognized in three specialties: bariatric surgery, cancer care and stroke care. In addition to University of Minnesota Medical Center, one other associated Fairview hospital where University of Minnesota Health care providers see patients has also been honored. Fairview Southdale Hospital is being recognized for bariatric surgery, cancer care, and heart care. University of Minnesota Health physicians provide cancer and heart care services at that hospital.
Women are the primary healthcare decision-makers in the United States. To understand their preferences, the Women’s Choice Award uses large-scale surveys to determine which aspects of the patient experience are important to women. That data helps guide the award process and selection criteria.
