University of Minnesota Medical Center is one of several Twin Cities hospitals to be honored with 2017 Women’s Choice America’s Best Hospital Awards. The award program recognizes the country’s best hospitals based on the standards women consider most important, including patient satisfaction, clinical excellence and other hospital preferences.
University of Minnesota Medical Center, located in Minneapolis, is being recognized in three specialties: bariatric surgery, heart care and stroke care. In addition to the medical center, two associated Fairview hospitals where University of Minnesota Health care providers see patients are also being honored:
The methodology for America’s Best Hospital Awards combines national accreditations, Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) patient survey results and hospital outcome scores with women’s healthcare preferences. It is the only award recognizing excellence in based on robust criteria that consider patient satisfaction and clinical excellence.
University of Minnesota Medical Center was recognized with Women’s Choice Awards in 2015 and 2016.
All Women’s Choice Award winners rank above the national average for patient recommendations on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems surveys, as indicated by the data reported by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
