University of Minnesota students return to campus on Aug. 28 and 29, 2017, which means patients and family members visiting the University of Minnesota Medical Center campus or the Clinics and Surgery Center those days should plan for slow-downs and extra traffic.

Student move-in times are scheduled between noon and 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 28, and between 8 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 29. We expect high-traffic volumes on Fulton Street SE, between Huron and Oak Streets SE.

Please add extra time to your schedule when you head to campus for your appointment, as you may experience delays. We recommend using the University Avenue exit traveling on Highway 35W instead of the Huron exit on Highway 94.

Because extra parking spots will be needed for students and families, all patients are strongly encouraged to take advantage of our valet parking services at the University of Minnesota Medical Center or Clinics and Surgery Center entrances. If you have questions, please contact your clinic directly or call 612-273-8383.

Minnesota Gopher football home games scheduled later this year may also affect parking and traffic near University of Minnesota Health facilities on campus. Please check the Gopher football schedule for game dates/times. On game days, we politely request that Clinics and Surgery Center patients use the surface lot West of the building on Ontario Street SE. We recommend that University of Minnesota Medical Center patients and visitors continue to park in the designated Patient/Visitor ramp.
