University of Minnesota Medical Center is honored to have once again been included in Becker’s Hospital Review’s annual “100 Great Hospitals in America” list.
The 2016 list was released on May 9. Hospitals on the list were chosen based on their history of medical innovation and patient care, connection between clinical care and research and reputation in the surrounding communities.
Becker’s Hospital Review also considers rankings and awards from sources, including U.S. News & World Report, Truven Health Analytics, Healthgrades, the American Nurses Credentialing Center and The Leapfrog Group, among others. The final result is a list of 100 hospitals named as overall healthcare leaders.
“[University of Minnesota Health] partners closely with research partners at the University of Minnesota to develop new health technologies and treatments,” Becker’s wrote in its listing for the medical center. “The university has pioneered numerous medical advancements, such as the first external pacemaker, the first successful bone marrow transplant and the world' first stem cell institute.”
Becker’s also included University of Minnesota Medical Center on the list in 2014.
