Thank your nurse with a March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Award nomination

Patients, colleagues and community members are invited to nominate an exceptional nurse for this year’s March of Dines Minnesota Nurse of the Year Awards.
We’re proud of our nurses who demonstrate compassion, care and dedication in all their daily work. If you want to say “thank you” to a special nurse, consider nominating him or her for a Nurse of the Year Award.

Compassion for patients, leadership in quality and patient safety and a role model in the health care setting—these are just a few of the qualities that describe great nurses.

We are lucky to have talented nurses at University of Minnesota Health and Fairview who go above and beyond when providing care to our patients and community. Check out this KSTP story about one of our nurses at Fairview Southdale Hospital, Thuy-Tien Truong.

Last year, Tien was awarded the Distinguished Nurse of the Year Award by March of Dimes Minnesota. March of Dimes Minnesota holds a ceremony each fall to honor outstanding nurses from around the state.

Three other nurses from our system were also honored by the March of Dimes in 2015 with nursing awards out of more than 400 nurses nominated. Award categories include community health nursing, leadership, mental health, rising stars and more.

In 2016, we invite you to celebrate nurses and nominate one or more for a Nurse of the Year award. Anyone can submit a nomination. If an exceptional nurse has made a difference for you or your family, this is a great way to say thank you. For details on how to submit a nomination, visit the March of Dimes Minnesota.
