Patients and families traveling to the East Bank of the University of Minnesota Medical Center will have a new transportation option on June 14, when the new Metro Transit Green Line light rail route debuts.
The Green Line, which connects downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul along the University Avenue corridor, will have a stop on the East Bank of the University of Minnesota campus. The East Bank station is located just west of the intersection of Harvard Street and Washington Ave. SE, just two blocks from the medical center main entrance.
Eastbound and westbound trains will depart every 10 minutes from the station during business hours Monday through Friday. Fares are $1.75 for adult riders during regular hours or $2.25 during rush hours; reduced fares are available for children, seniors and people with disabilities.
