All University of Minnesota campuses will become smoke- and tobacco-free beginning on July 1. The university's new policy will align with the smoke- and tobacco-free policies already in place at our hospitals and clinics.
The new policy affects all University of Minnesota facilities, buildings, and grounds. This includes Moos Tower, the Mayo Building, the Phillips Wangensteen and all buildings surrounding University of Minnesota Medical Center on our East Bank campus.
"The University is committed to protecting the health and well-being of all campus community members," said Eric Kaler, University of Minnesota president. "We all ‘share the air,’ and a smoke- and tobacco-free environment will provide many benefits to our community."
